What’s new in Obamacare for 2023

Bright Health has exited the many marketplaces.  If you had them, you will need to choose a new company.  Once you have entered your estimated income for 2023 you will be able to get an idea of what your costs for health insurance will be.  

In addition, congress has continuted the rule that limits the amount of premium you can pay for your health insurance to 8.5% of you modified adjusted gross income if you make more than 4 times  poverty level.

I know that sometimes it is difficult to project next year's income, so if in doubt give us a call and we will be happy to help you. There is never any charge for our service as we are compensated by the insurance company that you choose if you allow us to serve you.  Below is a chart of the 2023 subsidy levels. 

If you have an income less than 400% of poverty based on your family size it is important to see if you qualify for the ACA subsidies. 

If you have group insurance available that normally will disqualify you for subsidies. However, if your group insurance is considered unaffordable, that would qualify you for subsidies. Group insurance is considered unaffordable if it is more than 9.78% of your household income for the lowest cost plan available.
